Title: Commercial HVAC Technician
Reporting To: Service Manager
Summary:
Provides service and support to customers by preforming service calls, fulfilling commercial contracts, general customer service, and reporting. Position does require some on call work.
Responsibilities:
Service Calls
- Servicing product and equipment on assigned projects and ensuring customer satisfaction
- Performs repairs, overhauls, and start-ups of commercial HVAC systems
- Uses a variety of hand tools, following blueprints, wiring diagrams, piping schemes or engineering specifications, to diagnose and repair units
- Uses power tools and computers
- Identifies, analyzes, diagnoses, and repairs systems and products at customer's location
- Performs preventative maintenance, site surveys, replacement, and modifications as needed or requested by customers
- Prepares for on-site installation and repairs by examining building layout, anticipating difficulties, gathering materials and coordinating on-site work, as necessary
- Documents work by completing paperwork on each job and maintaining files
- Represents company by serving as a direct customer contact
- Determines parts to order for repairs and timeliness of need
- Keeps current all Trane products concerning installation, operation, maintenance, service, and repair
- Technical support to customers
- Flexibility to work overtime/weekends, as required

Commercial Contracts
- Ensure all equipment is working properly and to design specifications
- Perform maintenance as per contract or per customer request
- Reviewing the commercial contract to understand the requirements
- Onsite meeting(s) with customer
- Performing outlined maintenance
- Inform customer of additional requirements
- Quote additional requirements
- Keeping up to date with hours contracted
Customer Service
- Provide the customer with exceptional service
- Provide the customer with good working equipment
- Provide the customer with a list of deficiencies
Reporting
- Completing work orders
- Picture documentation of expenses for individual jobs
- Working with service dispatch to ensure timely invoicing/billing
- Make sure that paperwork is done before leaving the site and have customer sign when possible
- Email in Work orders daily
- Ensure all timesheets are filled out correctly
- Hand in all receipts
On Call
- Available within on call rotation
- Taking emergency calls from customers
- Understand time constraints to complete necessary work
Breakdown of time for core responsibilities:
50% Service Calls
40% Commercial Contracts
10% Customer Service, Reporting, On Call
Required Skills:

Required Qualifications:
• Valid driver's license and clean drivers abstract
• License required (e.g., HVAC Journeyman, Boiler Operator, Gas Installer, etc.)
Education and/or Experience:
Journeyman Certification in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning.
